Issue 090: What’s Your X-Factor for Growth & Productivity?

Last weekend, I flew to Ft. Myers for my annual women's mastermind retreat. We spend our time working "on" our businesses. Think of it as multiplying your brainpower. Masterminds can be your X-Factor for growth and productivity, whether for your professional career or personal life. Plus, like me, you can have more than one.

We have several segments to our time together, from accountability to goal setting to dedicated time for specific help. First, I wanted to work on my keynote opening. Over the past few months, I've played with three different openings. In what seemed like a nanosecond, my masterminders pinpointed the best one. Then, we moved another, a great example of a person who bounced-up toward the end where it made an impact. Now, the keynote flow has become much stronger. Sometimes, we can't see the forest for the trees, and that's one way a mastermind benefits you.

An impromptu bonus came while taking a walk before going to the airport. Because of the unpredictability of traveling, we shared tips, which came in handy a few hours later.

I had a delayed flight out of Ft. Myers to Washington, D.C., and would miss my Pittsburgh connection, which meant I would spend the night in D.C. At the ticketing counter, the first question the agent asked was, "Did you check any bags?" I smiled as I said, "no."

I’m a "check bag" kind of gal. However, "never check a bag" for this very reason was one of the tips. Because I didn't, I could get a different route and arrive home late Sunday night in the middle of the blizzard. Thanks, Lisa! Shoutout to Denisia from American Airlines for her persistence. What travel tips have worked for you? Would love to know. Hit reply and share them, please.

Every mastermind looks different depending upon what the group wants to achieve. So, if you've thought about a mastermind, could this be your year to create one?
